KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNIQUES COULD BE LEARNT FROM OTHERS, BUT THE ‘WISDOM OF CREATIVITY’ ONLY COMES FROM PERSONAL CULTIVATION
Because little remains of the original artwork by Victor Hartmann, we came up with the idea of creating new pictures to go with Moussorgskys music - and therfore take a creative approach - in this perfomance the pictures will emerge from the composition, created live by the movement of the music.
The idea is illuminating how many ways an artist can interpret a project. This is more than simply putting Mussorgsky into pictures. It is about the interactions happening between music and art and about your imagination. How can can music create visual art? How will you as the audience experience this interaction and moreover be aware, that you are part of painting the pictures live at this concert hall by creating the mood the pianist will transfer into his pinao perfomance and from the piano straight onto the paintings that we will see.
Every single piece has its own mood and so the range of media will includ not only a differnt colourspectrum but also individual brushes and media like watercolor, textiles, pastels, collage, acrylics, oil, and mixed media.
