This years' AME Winter Camp was also the venue for the Chinese New Year festivities for our guests from China. We arranged a multi-cultural concert accompanied by an introduction for the local audience about the Chinese New Year by Dr. Richard Trappl, director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna who taught the audience interesting facts about the custom of the Chinese New Year and the meaning of the current years' zodiac, the dog.
The concerts program was a mix of traditional local music, classical and also contemporary pieces, performed by Chinese and local students or artists. Furthermore Chinese and Austrian students performed together to foster our good intercultural relationship. The concert had broad media coverage by different local TV-stations and was highly acclaimed by all guests.
