SONG ACCOMPANIMENT FOR YOUNG PIANISTS
- Suitable songs for the introduction to the song accompaniment
- How to use basic knowledge in musical theory on the piano
- Chord symbols and development of simple accompanying patterns
- The ability of the song accompaniment facilitates the learning of classical music
- Every student will get an Austrian diploma
INTRODUCTION
For all pianoforte students, the accompaniment of the piano is a wonderful addition to their playing possibilities. When they learn to play an accompaniment after chord symbols, they learn from the usual musical notes and learn the world of the harmonies they need to apply practically. In the course of time, they discover the same chords in the classical works of the great composer and can learn and understand them more easily. The wish to accompany a song involves the need for a musical realization of the own auditory experience. This is characterized especially in areas of popular music. Furthermore students hope to be able to liberate a bit of the common contents and structures of a ‘classical’ piano lesson by song playing and song accompaniment. To meet these requirements it is not enough to work with very detailed and predesigned song arrangements during the lessons. It is more about to take the chance of the raw materials like text and melody, which offer opportunities to the students and the teachers. Based on this spirit this workshop tries to strike new paths.
