Very sucessful piano concert performed by Dr. Peter Brugger, AME Pedagogical Director, at GD Music School in Suzhou. The Owners Tao and Yu are longtime AME Partners who already visited our Austrian Masterclasses twice!
About the concert:
Because little remains of the original artwork by Victor Hartmann, we came up with the idea of creating new pictures to go with Mussorgskys music - and therefore take a modern creative approach - in this perfomance the pictures emerged from the composition, created live by the movement of the music.
The idea was to illuminate in how many ways an artist can interpret a project. This was more than simply putting Mussorgsky into pictures. It was about the interactions happening between music and art and about the childrens imagination. How is music able to create visual art?
After the concert all children who attended the concert recieved some small christmas chocoalate presents from Austria, handed over by Noah and Greta, the Children of the AME Creative Director Romana Obermair.
The children showed a lot of creative ideas afterwards by drawing their own inspiring pictures in our pre-printed empty handout frames.
Tao and Yu were the best possible hosts we could imagine - We thank you a lot and are looking forward to seeing you again in Austria with your talented students at our AME Masterclasses in Summer!
